Project Omni-tool

All true gamers know about Mass Effect's Omni-tool, the holographic computer/3d printer/scanner/programming and hacking utility/communicator/etc. Lets just say it can do anything. ;-)
My goal is to find a way to duplicate a few of its features (unfortunately, I can't add in the holograms just yet ;-) ) using modern technology, namely, the Raspberry Pi.

The slightly larger then credit card sized computer will be the heart of the entire device, with additional hardware added to the GPIO pins on the bottom corner of the Pi.
Lets see if someone with little programming and hardware knowledge can make a gadget akin to the legendary device of Commander Shepard. ;-)
